Modular synth composer artist Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith has introduced the launch of her new multidisciplinary label, Touchtheplants.

In a press launch, the mission’s purpose is described as “to offer to every artist with encouraging inquiry in direction of what is feasible, and to be a collaborative useful resource with evolving outdoors partnerships which might be in alignment with the preliminary intention to search out the perfect kind for the artist’s story.”

The Touchtheplants web site expands on that definition, saying that the endeavor will concentrate on: “Sharing music, dance, movie, poetry, pictures, devices, explorations, experiences, clothes, fortunes, symposiums and extra. Open to all concepts and codecs rooted within the intent to encourage and edify infinite potentialities.”

Because the title suggests, the emphasis of the label is on the tactile. Every launch can have a bodily element to it.

The primary Touchtheplants launch might be a group of Smith’s personal music that falls outdoors her regular album cycles. The primary quantity of the “Digital Collection” is known as Vol 1: Abstractions, and is ready to be launched subsequent week. Smith’s Digital Collection might be launched yearly, and every quantity will embody a recording in addition to a comic book e book, each specializing in a theme.

This fall the label might be Digital Meditations, a collection of recordings of guided meditations set to synthesizer music by Gregory Kramer.

Smith will formally launch the label in Could with two pairs of reveals going down in New York and Los Angeles.
